Josh Cooper, representing England, won the first ever boys' singles gold medal for wheelchiar tennis as the sport made it's debut at the Sainsbury's School Games in Manchester in 2015.
Scotland's Ruairi Logan and England's Nicholas Smelt, the silver and bronze medallists respectively in the boys' singles, were the gold medallists in the boys' doubles after coming out on top in a series of round-robin doubles matches involving the 13 players.
Only players under 19 years of age on 1st January 2015 (ie born in 1996 or after) were eligible for the competition.
London 2012 Paralympian and British No.3 Louise Hunt was appointed as the athlete mentior for wheelchair tennis at the 2015 Sainsbury's School Games.
Competition Format
In singles competition the 13 players played in a 16-player compass draw, with medal matches on Sunday, 6th September. The match format for singles was 2 short sets with a match tie-break for the 3rd set.
In doubles competition the 13 players paired up with different partners in different matches, each player having at least two matches to determine a final finishing order. The match format for the doubles was again 2 short sets with a match tie-break for the 3rd set.
