Smethurst lost out in the singles quarter-finals and reached the doubles semi-finals, as did Alex Ward & Darren Walsh, before suffering defeat.

Smethurst has made the quarter-finals of the singles event and has also teamed up with Ward to reach the semi-finals of the doubles. Ward lost out in singles round one. Darren Walsh is also in the other doubles semi-final.

Alex Ward and Daniel Smethurst are in singles and doubles action this week in France. In the singles, Ward plays Maxime Chazal in the opening round, while seventh seed Smethurst is already through to the second round.
In the doubles Ward and Smethurst have teamed up, already progressing through to the quarter-finals, where they are joined by third seeds Darren Walsh and American partner Adham El-Effendi.
