David Phillipson has reached the final of the Wroclaw Cup after his quarter-final opponent Martin Legner from Austria had to retire at 0-3 when his chair suffered damage and couldn't be repaired on court. And the British No.3 had his path to the final opened up after Dutchman Tom Egberink pulled out of the tournament with an injury after defeating British No.4 Alfie Hewett 7-5, 6-2 in a closely fought quarter-final.

Marc McCarroll couldn't join Phillipson in progressing as he lost to Australian Adam Kellerman 6-2, 7-5 in their last eight encounter. Kellerman and top seed Frederic Cattaneo from France will now play each other for a place in the final against Phillipson.

But all three Brits will feature in tomorrow's doubles final as McCarroll and Hewett got the better of top seeds Legner and Cattaneo 7-5, 6-2 while Phillipson makes it two finals out of two after teaming up with Kellerman to beat Tadeus Kruszelnicki and Egberink 7-5, 6-4.
