Gordon Reid claimed his third successive doubles title in Rotterdam and his second in three years with Frenchman Stephane Houdet.

Top seeds Reid and Houdet were taken to a deciding match tie-break by Stefan Olsson of Sweden and Nicolas Peifer of France in the final, but built on a 3-0 lead in the tie-break to seal a 6-3, 3-6, (10-7) victory that extended their unbeaten record to 15 matches in five tournaments.

"Obviously I'm very happy to be taking home another title after a tough final. Our opponents played well and made us work hard for the victory, which makes it even sweeter," said Reid. "So far 2015 has been a great year for me on the doubles front. Stephane and I have now taken five titles out of five tournaments together so we're happy to remain unbeaten and are looking forward to playing with each other at our first Grand Slam together this year in New York."

Earlier in the day Reid’s bid to reach his first singles final in Rotterdam came to an end against Belgian world No. 5 Joachim Gerard, who edged their semi-final 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

The British No. 1 and world No. 3 produced an impressive performance to beat Sweden’s world No. 12 and former world No. 2 Stefan Olsson 6-1, 6-0 in his men’s singles quarter-final. Second seed Reid will now play Belgian world No. 5 Joachim Gerard for a place in the final after Gerard ended the progress of Alfie Hewett 6-3, 6-4.

Later in the day Reid reached his third successive doubles final in Rotterdam and his second with Frenchman Stephane Houdet. With a Brit already assured of a place in the doubles final, the top seeds and 2013 champions beat Marc McCarroll and Ferderic Cattaneo of France 6-4, 6-0.

Hewett’s bid to join Reid in the doubles final started well as the world No. 1 junior and Gerard took Olsson and Frenchman Nicolas Peifer to a first set tie-break in their semi-final. However, Peifer and Olsson went on to claim a 7-6(4), 6-2 win that will see them play Reid and Houdet for the title.

"I'm very happy with the way I played in my singles today. I was focused and clinical throughout and I think that showed with the score," said Reid. "My aim for tomorrow is to approach my semi-final exactly the same.

"It's nice to be back here playing with Stephane again after we won the title two years ago. We've maintained our unbeaten run with the win today so hopefully we can stretch that even further tomorrow in the final."

For the second successive year the trio of Gordon Reid, Marc McCarroll and Alfie Hewett take British hopes into the latest wheelchair tennis tournament to take place directly alongside an ATP Tour event.

Reid and Hewett  play in Europe for the first time in 2015 after winning two doubles titles together in Australia in January before Reid was runner-up in the men’s doubles at the Australian Open.

The British No. 1 partnered Dutchman Maikel Scheffers to win the men’s doubles in Rotterdam in 2014, while narrowly missing out to world No. 2 Stephane Houdet in a final set tie-break in their singles semi-final. Reid is currently unbeaten in the men’s doubles in Rotterdam, having also won the 2013 event partnering Houdet on his debut at the tournament. Reid also partners Houdet in the men's doubles this year. They are top seeds.

World No. 1 junior Hewett arrives in Rotterdam to play in the ITF 1 Series event for the second successive year having produced some fine singles performances against current and former world top 10 ranked opposition in Australia. Meanwhile, British men’s No. 2 McCarroll makes his 2015 debut in Rotterdam, starting the season ranked just outside the world’s top 10 at No. 11. McCarroll and Hewett are drawn to meet each other in the first round of the men's singles. while McCarroll partners Frenchman Frederic Cattaneo in the men's doubles and Hewett joins forces with Belgium's Joachim Gerard.
