Linkside LTC is seeking to expand its team of coaches by appointing a Level 2/3 club development coach. The appointed coach would be engaged on a self employed basis to deliver group coaching at beginner and intermediate levels to a range of club members including juniors.
Linkside LTC is a busy medium-sized club affiliated to the Essex County LTA. It has seven all-weather courts including five floodlit artificial turf, and two artificial clay. Current membership is approx. 270 including about 0ne-third juniors. The Club currently has two licensed coaches although one of these provides only a small amount of coaching and is intending to retire shortly. The other coach has a full coaching programme and is currently working towards his LTA Level 4.
The committee believes that there is scope for a level 2/3 coach to develop a successful full-time coaching practice within the club offering both individual and group coaching to juniors and adults. Initially, the coach would be offered approx 5 hours per week of coaching in the club’s group coaching programme teaching. This would involve teaching groups of mini red, orange and green tennis, and some youth/adult groups. There would also be some holiday and term time courses available for the coach and they could assist with other club events such as tournaments and junior league teams. Alongside this, the coach could then start to attract individual coaching clients.
The coach would be engaged on a self-employed basis under a contract based on the LTA standard contract for coaching services. Details of coaching fees and potential other remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate and will depend on the agreed scope of services and skill level of the Coach.
