Nike Winter National Tour Finals

What are the Winter National Tour Finals?

The Finals bring together the most successful players, according to leaderboard positions, of the Winter National Tour, to determine the Champion in each age group at the end of the season. Players will have accumulated leaderboard points from each Winter National Tour event (grade 2) which will feed in to a leaderboard for each age group.

When will players know if they are in the Finals

The relevant players will be notified via email shortly after their last Winter National Tour event and once the final leaderboard is calculated.

No Winter National Tour Finals for 9U

New for the 2014-15 Winter Season

From 1st September 2014 there will no longer be 9U National Tour Leaderboards or 9U National Tour Finals in either the winter or the summer season.

Read the FAQ guide on this change.

What points count for the Leaderboard?

10U & 12U - Results from a player’s top 3 tournaments - i.e. the highest points from the qualifying event or main draw event, including consolation, will count towards the Winter National Tour leaderboard.

14U, 16U, 18U - Results from a player’s top 2 tournaments - i.e. the highest points from the qualifying event or main draw event, including consolation, will count towards the Winter National Tour leaderboard.

If an event has two stages such as Round Robin to Elimination, or Round Robin to Round Robin play off, the first Round Robin draw is the qualification draw.

Please note that draws which are not qualifying, main draw or consolation will count for ratings only.

What happens if players are tied on the Leaderboard?

Where players are tied they are shown on the Leaderboard in alphabetical order. For selection purposes for Circuit Finals, when two or more players have the same total number of points, ties shall be broken as follows:

  • Fewest tournaments played and, if still tied, then:
  • The highest number of points from one single tournament, then, if needed, the second highest etc., if still tied, then:
  • Drawn by lot

Who qualifies for the Finals?

The Finals will be a 16 player draw; players who finish in the top 14 of their leaderboard will earn a place in the Finals, whilst the remaining 2 places in the draw will be reserved for wild cards to be awarded by the relevant age group captains if they feel this is appropriate. If no wild cards are awarded the next player on the leaderboard will be awarded the space in the draw.

The next 6 players on the leaderboards, after the top 14 players have been identified, will be recognised as reserves for the Finals.
