Texas Tennis Open – Women’s doubles

Heather Watson and Marina Erakovic (NZL) have won the women’s doubles title at the Texas Tennis Open, a WTA International event. In the final Watson &  Erakovic defeated Liga Dekmeijere & Irina Falconi 6-3, 6-0.

Netherlands F5 Futures – Men’s singles

Alexander Slabinsky has won the men’s singles title at the Netherlands F5 Future event. In the final, Slabinsky faced compatriot Oliver Golding in a tight three set match which he clinched with a 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4 win.

Maureen Connolly Challenge Trophy  

The 36th Maureen Connolly Challenge Trophy took place on August 23-24, at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale in New Haven, Conn. The tournament is a yearly competition between the best 18 and under girls tennis players from the United States and Great Britain.

The Great Britain team of Katie Dunne, Anna Brogan, Harriet Dart and Katie Boulter defeated the USA 8-4.

AEGON British Tour Sutton – Men’s & Women’s singles

Tom Burn and Anna Fitzpatrick claimed the AEGON British Tour Sutton singles titles over the weekend. In the final, top seed Fitzpatrick played third seed Lucy Brown who retired from the match at 6-2, 3-4.

Meanwhile in the men’s draw, Burn was crowed winner after opponent Andrew Fitzpatrick conceded a walkover.

BRITISH EVENTS - JUNIORS  

AEGON British Junior National Championships - 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U – Girls’ & boys’ singles & doubles

The AEGON British Junior National Championships wrapped up over the weekend having seen many top junior players take to the courts at the Nottingham Tennis Centre and the West Hants Club, Bournemouth. Three age categories have been competing in the East Midlands – 14U, 16U and 18U; while the 12U event takes place in Bournemouth.

JUNIORS - ITF

Grade 4 – Mauritius – Boys’ Singles

Samuel Taylor has finished as the runner-up in Mauritius. In the final he played Okkie Kellerman of South Africa missing out 6-3, 6-0.

Grade 4 – Portugal – Boys’ singles & doubles

British qualifier Max Andrews has claimed the boys’ singles title in Portugal. In the final he played compatriot Aswin Lizen winning in three sets 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.

Meanwhile in the boys’ doubles event, Robbie Ridout and Sandro Viaene Pieras (ESP) defeated Max Andrews and his partner Zeljko Milovic (SRB) in the quarter-finals. Ridout & Viaene Pieras were then defeated in straight sets in the semi-finals.

Grade 4- Belarus – Boys’ doubles

Joshua Paris and Lithuanian partner Kasparas Zemalitelis have won the boys’ doubles title at the Belkanton Cup. In the final they played fourth seeds Dovgan & Liutarevich winning 6-1, 7-6(3).
