JUNIORS – TENNIS EUROPE

U14 Category 1 Italy – Boys’ singles & doubles

British third seed Jay Clarke has won the boys' singles title in Italy. After defeating Enrico Dalla Valle (ITA) 7-6(3), 6-4 the Briton faced Gian Marco Moroni in the final. Clarke overcame the Italian 7-6(4), 6-4.

This result, along with with his Category 1 victory in Romania last week puts Clarke at the top of the Tennis Europe 14U boys' rankings list.

Clarke has also seen success in the boys’ doubles with partner Kenneth Raisma (EST). The top seeded duo defeated Hungarian fifth seeds Akos Kotorman & Mate Valkusz 6-4, 5-7, 10-0.

Israel F6 Futures - Ashkelon $10k – Men’s doubles

Fourth seeds Joshua Jones & James Marsalek reached the men's doubles semi-finals before losing out to Chinese top seeds Yu Chang & Zhe Li 6-1, 6-3. The pair had advanced through to the last four after a  6-2, 6-3 win over Elia & Ram-Harel

USA F11 Futures – Florida $10k – Men’s doubles

Edward Corrie and Vahid Mirzadeh (USA) have finished as runnners-up in the men's doubles. The British/American duo faced Benjamin Rogers (USA) & John-Patrick Smith (AUS) in the final but after a close 5-7, 6-1, 11-9 loss, the pair had to settle for second place.

Florida $10k

$10,000 Jakarta – Women’s doubles

Second seeds Jade Windley & Anna Fitzpatrick have finished as runners-up in Indonesia. After defeating fourth seeds Lee & Zhu 6-2, 6-1 in the semi-finals, the British duo faced Chinese third seeds Jia Xiang Lu & Jia Jing Lu in the final but were defeated 6-4, 6-4.

BRITISH EVENTS

AEGON GB Pro-Series Edinburgh – Men’s & Women’s singles & doubles

Sixth seed Jerome Inzerillo caused an upset in today’s all-French men’s singles final, defeating Gleb Sakharov, the top seed, at the AEGON GB Pro-Series Edinburgh. 

Sakharov took the first set tie-break at the Craiglockhart Tennis Centre before his compatriot Inzerillo fought back to take the title in three sets, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2.

The women’s singles final on Sunday will be between France’s Elixane Lechemia and Quirine Lemoine of the Netherlands. Lechemia, the fifth seed, progressed to the final after her French compatriot Chloe Paquet retired with injury in the second set. Today’s other semi-final went to three sets with Lemoine defeating Australia’s Karolina Wlodarczak 6-2 3-6 6-3.

AEGON GB Pro-Series Edinburgh

AEGON British Tour, Newcastle – Men’s & Women’s singles

Alan Bevan and Daneika Borthwick have won the men's and women's singles titles at the AEGON British Tour in Newcastle.

Fifth seed Alan Bevan defeated Aba Omodele-Lucien 6-4, 6-0 to claim the title. On his way to the final Bevan, who did not drop a set all week, also defeated third seed Tom Burn and Matthew Hingley.

In the women's draw it was unseeded Daneika Borthwick who saw success after a three set win over Grace Dixon. Borthwick started off strong in the final and took the opening set against the third seed. However Dixon fought back to level in the second, but in form Borthwick took the third set and the title with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win.

AEGON British Tour, Newcastle

JUNIORS - ITF

Grade 2, Italy – Boys’ singles

Peter Ashley reached the boys’ singles semi-finals in Italy after defeating Blaz Bizjak (SLO) 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. In the last four Ashley faced third seed Licciardi and after another three setter, the Briton was overcome 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-4.

Grade 2, Romania – Boys’ doubles

After winning through to the boys' doubles final, Billy Harris and partner Nikola Milojevic (SRB) have finished as runners-up in  Romania. They British/Serbian duo faced Ciorcila (ROU) & Sydow (NED) in the last two but were defeated 6-4, 3-6, 10-5.

U16 Category 3 Denmark – Boys’ singles

Sam Rice has finished as runner-up in Denmark. The unseeded Briton faced sixth seed Gabriele Moghini (CHE) but was defeated 7-6(2), 6-4.

U14 Category 2 Turkey – Boys’ singles & doubles

Alexis Canter and partner Alp Sentay (TUR) have claimed the boys' doubles title in Turkey. The pair faced Turkish duo Azkava & Soke who conceded a walkover.

In the singles semi-finals eighth seed Alexis Canter lost to top seed and doubles partner Alp Sentay (TUR) 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

WHEELCHAIR TENNIS

Eton Manor International, ITF 3

On the final day of play at the Eton Manor International, Robin Ammerlaan was the men's singles gold medalist after he proved too strong for British No.3 David Phillipson in the final.

Phillipson kept pace with the top seed and world No.7 for the first five games but a few too many unforced errors gave Ammerlaan the advantage and he closed out the match 6-2, 6-2.
