Jamie Murray’s remarkable ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament campaign came to an end with a tight defeat in the final to Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau.
Murray and playing partner John Peers had earlier booked their plane tickets out of Rotterdam in Holland after losing in qualifying to British duo Colin Fleming and Jonny Marray.
However, the pair were given a lucky loser spot when Gilles Muller pulled out of his first round match, where he was due to partner Andy Murray, through illness
After receiving a walkover in the quarter-final when the top seeds withdrew, Murray and Peers then knocked Dom Inglot out in the last four before going down 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 to Rojer & Tecau.
@Jamie_Murray said on Twitter: "Tough to lose such a close match but lucky to even be in the tournament! Marseille on Tues. #reflect #buildingahighwall"
