Funding Guidelines

We are currently finalising our Facility Strategy and the funding guidelines will be updated once complete.

Each project will, as the process develops, be individually assessed for funding. These guidelines give you top line information on the levels of potential capital funding towards your project.

Traditional Build Indoor Projects

The applicant should provide a minimum of 50% of the project cost, which can comprise both of the applicants’ own funds and external partnership funding. British tennis funding will be allocated on a 50:50 loan to grant ratio capped at a maximum of £600k grant and £600k loan. i.e., an award of £100,000 would be broken down as a £50,000 loan and a £50,000 grant.

Low cost Indoor Structures

The applicant should provide a minimum of 25% of the project cost, which can comprise both of the applicants’ own funds and external partnership funding. British tennis funding will be allocated on a 50:50 loan to grant ratio, i.e., an award of £100,000 would be broken down as a £50,000 loan and a £50,000 grant.

Outdoor Projects

The applicant should provide a minimum of 25% of the project cost, which can comprise both of the applicants’ own funds and external partnership funding. British Tennis funding will be allocated on a 50:50 loan to grant ratio, i.e., an award of £50,000 would be broken down as a £25,000 loan and a £25,000 grant

Clubhouse Development Projects

British tennis will allocate a maximum of £100,000 loan only funding for clubhouse projects that will provide a measurable impact on British Tennis. The applicant should provide a minimum of 50% of the project cost, which can comprise both of the applicants’ own funds and external partnership funding

Note: All places to play are expected to provide a sinking fund for ongoing court maintenance.
