Further education colleges are being invited to create a short video showcasing how they are using the LTA Tennis Leaders course to develop leadership skills within a tennis environment.

Tennis Leaders

Tennis Leaders is aimed at 13 years plus and the content is suitable for older juniors just starting out on the tennis career pathway through to adult volunteers looking to support their local coach, referee or club official.

Throughout the modules available, you will gain a better understanding of other key areas such as use of the appropriate equipment, physical capabilities of players of varying ages and health and safety on and off court.

A range of over 70 Mini Tennis Activity Cards are also available to download online, to help plan and deliver lessons. The activity cards provide ideas for ABCs, tricks, drills, main theme and competitive activities.

 Competition Organisers Workshop

In order to get more people competing, there needs to be more opportunities to take part in local competition. Currently there simply aren’t enough competitions to meet demand, so British Tennis has trained 4,000 young people between 16 to 25 years old as Competition Organisers in the last three years.

A free three-hour workshop can be delivered locally by our Tennis Development Managers, to provide the skills to run a range of competitions.

At the training, attendees will be given a Competition Organisers Toolkit, providing them with all the tools and resources needed to run a competition. Competition Organisers can then play an important role in ensuring we keep more young people in the sport.

Competition Organisers Workshops are delivered locally by approved tutors and can be arranged through your local Tennis Development Manager.
