Jack Clifton and Catherine Fletcher get Great Britain's tennis campaign underway on Friday's first day off the 22nd Summer Deaflympics, when the opening rounds of the men's and women's singles take place.
Clifton makes his Deaflympic debut against Chinese Taipei's Chun-Wei Wang and is drawn in the same half of the men's singles draw as fellow Brit Lewis Fletcher. Fletcher and Peter Willcox, who are both competing in their second Deaflympics, are seeded seventh and sixteenth respectively and have first round byes.
Clifton and Lewis Fletcher are drawn in the same half of the draw as Gabor Mathe, Hungary's bronze medallist from 2009 Taipei Deaflympics, with Willcox in the top half of the draw along with world No. 1 and Taipei silver medallists Mikael Laurent of France.
Great Britain National Deaf Tennis Coach and seventh seed Catherine Fletcher will begin her fifth Deaflympics against Russia's Anastasiya Grin.
Bethany Brookes will open her Deaflympic debut against Greek athlete Vasiliki Kalogeropoulou, the same player she beat in the first round of last year's European Deaf Tennis Championships.
Brookes has Taipei gold and silver medallists Barbara Oddone of Italy and Beatriz Lorenzo Villamandos of Spain in her half of the draw.
