Luke Bambridge has won the April AEGON Junior Player of the Month Award for his success in junior ITF events France.
In two successive weeks, the 17 year-old from Nottingham claimed the title at the ITF Grade 2 in Istres, France and then followed this up with a semi-final position at the ITF Grade 1 tournament in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France.
In the Grade 2 event Bambridge was playing as fourth seed. Having reached the quarter-finals the Briton fought past Cameron Norrie (NZL), then Remy Chala (FRA) in the last four. In the final Bambridge met wild card Maxime Tchoutakian and defeated the Frenchman 7-6(7), 7-5 to claim the winner’s title.

A week later Bambridge was back in action again, this time at the French ITF Grade 1 event. In the quarter-final stages of the draw, the British seventh seed defeated fourth seed Borna Coric (CRO) 6-3, 6-3 to seal his place in the last four. Having reached the singles semi-finals Bambridge faced Jeroen Vanneste (BEL) but saw a 7-5, 6-4 defeat.

More recently Bambridge received a wild card into AEGON GB Pro-Series Edinburgh and began his campaign by defeating the number two seed Sidorenko (FRA) in three sets.
