James Ward has won the Aegon Player of the Month award for January after an herioc win against Sam Querrey in the Davis Cup.
James Ward who is ranked 156 in the world defeated world No. 55 Sam Querrey 1-6, 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to help the Aegon GB Davis Cup Team win their first Davis Cup quarter-final since 1986. This was also the first time since 1935 that Great Britain have defeated the USA.
Great Britain will now face Italy on the 4th - 6th April.
