Aegon Player of the Month: Andy Murray

World No.4 Andy Murray has won the January Aegon Player of the Month award after reaching his fourth Australian Open final.

Murray was back to his very best as he navigated his way through to his eighth grand slam final with a number of stunning performances.

Also a finalist in 2010, 2011 and 2013, Murray could not prevent Novak Djokovic winning his fifth title at Melbourne Park as the Serbian won a high-quality match 6-7(5), 7-6(4), 3-6, 0-6.

After the match, Andy said: “I would like to thank my team. We put in a lot of hard work to try and get back in this position after a difficult year and unfortunately couldn’t quite do it tonight but I am a bit closer than I was a few months ago and I will keep working hard to get there.

“I will try and come back next year and have a slightly different outcome in the final.”
