Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins have won the AEGON Player of the Month award for March.
British doubles duo Colin Fleming & Ross Hutchins have been awarded with March’s Player of the Month award after their success in claiming the men’s doubles title at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championship.
This win at the ATP 250 event moved the British pair up to eighth in the ATP team doubles rankings and individually put them at career highs.
In the final against Michal Mertinak and Andre Sa, Fleming & Hutchins came back from a set down to level in a tie-break before being taken the distance in the final set.
However the British pair held strong and finally beat Mertinak & Sa 2-6, 7-6(5),15-13 in just over two hours.
"It was like an emotional rollercoaster really," said Fleming after the match. "We managed to come up with big points when we needed them today."
Hutchins added: "Colin always amazingly makes these shots and he keeps saying he's lucky, but it's not, and he did that again today."
