Andy Lapthorne has won the Aegon Player of the Month award for September after he won his first grand slam title with victory at the US Open.
Lapthorne defeated World No.1 American David Wagner 7-5, 6-2 in New York to take the title. Afterwards Lapthorne said: "For the US Open to be my first Grand Slam singles title is so special because I love this place, the whole city is just great. I've visualised that match point before and when it happened I couldn't believe it. That's what I've always dreamed of."
