Masters 2014

Format

In 2014 there will be one Leader Board and one Masters, combining points gained from Tier 1 and Tier 2 events throughout the year.   

  • The Leader Board will be automatically updated after each event, and can be found here.
  • The top 32 men, and top 32 women will be invited to the ‘year-end Masters’, with no requirement for a minimum number of events played.
  • If a player is unable to take part then their place will be allocated to the next person on the Leader Board.
  • The Masters will take place over 4 days and will be a straight knock out event with round of 32 on day 1, round of 16 on day 2, quarter-finals & semi-finals on day 3, and finals on day 4.

Ties: When two or more players have the same total number of points, ties shall be broken as follows:

  • The player who has played the fewest tournaments will be placed higher.
  • If still tied, then the highest number of points gained from one single tournament Then if needed the second highest, and so on..
  • If still tied, draw by lot.

Dates

  • The Aegon British Tour Masters will take place Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 December 2014 inclusive, at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
  • Confirmation of qualification for the Masters will be sent out via e-mail after completion of the last event at Loughborough on Tuesday 18 November. This is a relatively short turn around, so please ensure your correct e-mail address is recorded under your BTM profile.

Scoring

All matches will be the best of 3 tie break sets, and the Final officiated by a chair umpire.

A trophy will be awarded to the winner. The breakdown of prize money is as follows:

Bonus Pool Winner

The male and female players who finish top of the Leader Board, after the 40 Aegon British Tour tournaments staged during 2014 (excluding the Masters), will receive a Bonus Pool payment of £1,000.00. Where there are two or more players at the top of the Leader board on the same number of points, the £1,000.00 Bonus Pool payment will be equally shared.
