Katie Boulter finishes runner-up at Australian Open

Katie Boulter finished runner-up in the Australian Open girl’s doubles in Melbourne Park on Friday.

Boulter and Serbia partner Ivana Jorovic fell to No.1 seeds Anhelina Kalinina (UKR) & Elizaveta Kulichkova 6-4, 6-2 in 57 minutes. In a match with very few winners or unforced errors it was the No.1 seeds who came out on top to take the doubles title.

Wheelchair Tennis

Jordanne Whiley became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam wheelchair tennis title today when she partnered Japan's Yui Kamiji to a 6-2, 6-7(3). 6-2 victory over Dutch second seeds Marjolein Buis and Jiske Griffioen at the Australian Open in Melbourne.

Day 12 Highlights

Rafa & Roger

The remaining singles semi-final saw 2009 champion Rafael Nadal book his place in the 2014 Men's singles final. The Spanish top seed defeated four-time champion and long time rival Roger Federer 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-3.

Title glory

Top seeds Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci retained their Women's doubles title by fighting back from 2-5 down in the third set to defeat Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.  There was home success in the Boy's doubles final as the Australian team of Lucas Miedler and Bradley Mousley defeated French pairing Quentin Halys and Johan Sebastien Tatlot 6-4, 6-3.

Semi-final success

The finalists were decided in the Mixed doubles with victories in the last four for Sania Mirza and Horia Tecau and Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor.  In the Junior singles events top two seeds Alexander Zverev and Stefan Kozlov setup a meeting in the Boy's final while in the Girl's semi-finals there were wins for 4th seed Elizaveta Kulichkova and unseeded Jana Fett.
