Heather Watson got back to winning ways at the Australian Open after making her way through to the second round of the women’s doubles.
Watson experienced dizziness and a lack of energy in her singles defeat to Tsvetana Pironkova but returned to the court with doubles partner Alexandra Panova.
The duo lost the first set 6-2 to Shahar Peer and Annika Beck but won the match when Israeli, Peer, retired through injury with the score 2-6, 7-5, 3-1.
It has been a successful tournament for Panova who won three matches to qualify for the main draw singles and then had two match points to knock Maria Sharapova out in Round 2 before losing in three-sets.
Next up for Watson and her Russian partner are 12th seeds Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Alla Kudryavtseva.
