Local favourite David Phillipson pulled off the biggest win of Tuesday's first day at the 24th British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships when the British No. 3 beat Dutch world No. 11 Tom Egberink in the men's singles first round at Nottingham Tennis Centre.

British No. 1 Gordon Reid and British No. 3 David Phillipson both face potentially tough opening matches on Tuesday at the 24th British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships, with 2012 runner-up Reid drawn to meet world No. 13 Satoshi Saida of Japan and Phillipson drawn to face Dutch world No. 11 Tom Egberink.
