British No. 1 Gordon Reid and British No. 3 David Phillipson both face potentially tough opening matches on Tuesday at the 24th British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships, with 2012 runner-up Reid drawn to meet world No. 13 Satoshi Saida of Japan and Phillipson drawn to face Dutch world No. 11 Tom Egberink.
Reid is drawn in the same half of the men's draw as top seed and world No. 2 Stephane Houdet of France and Dutch sixth seed Ronald Vink. Vink could potentially face British No. 3 Marc McCarroll in the second round, with McCarroll se to start his campaign with a match against Israel's Genadi Kohanov.
Current world No. 1 ranked junior Alfie Hewett could face Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez, the player he succeeded as world No. 1 junior in January this year, should Hewett come through his first round match against Dutchman Pim Palmen.
Two-time British Open champion Maikel Scheffers of the Netherlands opens his bid this year against Israel's Meir Ben Abu, with the Dutchman drawn for a potential quarter-final against French seventh seed Michael Jeremiasz.
With all the main protagonists having byes into the second round of the women's singles, British No. 1 and sixth seed Lucy Shuker will meet Colombia's Angelica Bernal for a place in the quarter-finals, with British No. 2 seventh seed Jordanne Whiley meeting Christine Schoenn of France later in the week as they also vie for a place in the last eight.
Once of the most eye-catching first round matches seed British No. 3 Louise Hunt face Colombia's Johana Martinez for the chance to face Dutch fourth seed Marjolein Buis.
German top seed Sabine Ellerbrock will play Brit Laura Coteman or Japan's Mihi Nijo in her opening match, while Dutch second seed will face one of two British opponents, Lauren Jones or Val Fisher.
Brits Jamie Burdekin, last year's British Open runners-up, and Adam Field will meet in the first round of the quad singles, while American world No. 1 David Wagner will begin his bid to regain the British Open title against one of two Brits, Richard Green of James Shaw.
Britain's world No. 9 Antony Cotterill will play Sophie Fraioli of France for the right to play South African second seed and world No. 3 Lucas Sithole in the quad singles quarter-finals.
