The AEGON GB Davis Cup Team are to play Russia after the draw for 2013 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas was announced on Wednesday.
Great Britain who are currently in Euro/Africa Zone Group I, will play at home against Russia on April 5th - 7th 2013.
Russia, who won the Davis Cup in 2002 and 2006 but were recently relegated from the World Group, currently has four top 100 players including Mikhail Youzhny and Nikolay Davydenko.
"Wow, another home tie! Russia at home in April," said GB doubles player Colin Fleming on Twitter. "A tough tie but an exciting one!"
The only previous meeting between the two nations was in 1963 when Britain beat the USSR 4-1 in Eastbourne.
The draw, which was held at the London offices of title sponsor BNP Paribas on Wednesday, was attended by Luke Bambridge, Evan Hoyt and captain Greg Rusedski, members of the successful GB Junior Davis Cup Team.
