The Aegon GB Davis Cup Team hopes of going into day two level in their Davis Cup World Group quarter-final tie against Italy were quelled as bad light suspended play in Naples.
Andy Murray’s second rubber against Andreas Seppi was interrupted by fading light on Friday after one hour and 53 minutes of play as the British No.1 was leading 6-4, 5-5.
James Ward, who was first up for GB after more than two hours of heavy rain delayed play, missed out to Fabio Fognini 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 before Murray stepped onto court.
Murray will complete his match at 9.30am (BST) before the doubles rubber of the tie.
