The Aegon GB Fed Cup Team have been drawn to play Ukraine, Turkey and Liechtenstein in the round-robin stages of the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas.
Judy Murray’s team of Heather Watson, Johanna Konta, Jocelyn Rae and Anna Smith will compete in Group B of the Euro/Africa Zone Group 1 which takes place in Budapest, Hungary, between February 4-7.
Awaiting in the play-off if Great Britain top Group B will be the winner of Group C which includes Belarus, Portugal, Bulgaria and Georgia.
Commenting on the draw, Judy Murray said: “Euro/Africa Zone Group 1 is notoriously difficult to get out of. There are 15 teams so you have to win four matches in four days to qualify for the World Group play-offs.
“There are a lot of top players in the event. Belarus have named Vika Azarenka in their squad which would make them one of the favourites.
“We have drawn Ukraine, Turkey and Liechtenstein and that represents a good draw for us. Anything is possible in this three rubber format and we have a solid team in both singles and doubles.”
