Three players have progressed to round three of the men's singles event at the Aegon Championships after a rain affected second day of the tournament.

On Centre Court Juan Martin Del Potro defeated Xavier Malisse in three sets, coming through 7-6(5), 1-6, 7-5, after recovering from 0-40 down in the penultimate game of the match.

The Argentinean third seed will now face Jarkko Nieminen or British wild card Dan Evans.

The first match of the day on Centre Court saw 2010 champion Sam Querrey battle past Slovenia's Aljaz Bedene in another three set match, eventually winning 7-6(11), 5-7, 7-6(5).

Elsewhere Denis Kudla made round three by knocking out ninth seed Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-4 and there were round one wins for Lopez, Rosol, Istomin and Nicolas Mahut, who will now go on to play Andy Murray on Wednesday.
