Lleyton Hewitt has won the Aegon Championships four times in his career, and will start his pursuit of a record fifth crown on the Centre Court on Monday.
The former World Number One and 2002 Wimbledon champion will take on Michael Russell of the United States in what will be a battle between two of the fittest, fastest and most tenacious men in tennis. That description was supported by their most recent meeting, a 5-set victory for Hewitt at the 2007 Australian Open.
Before then, British duo Dan Evans and James Ward will both have a great opportunity to show what they can do on the grass court that many of the world's top players have called 'the best in the world'.
Wild card Evans opens the Centre Court programme at 12.30pm against Guido Pella of Argentina, and then Ward, a semifinalist two years ago, meets Croatia's Ivan Dodig.
After those three matches, last year's semifinalist Grigor Dimitrov will bring his many talents to the court. The Bulgarian, ranked No.28, faces Dudi Sela, who scored a notable victory two years ago over Andy Roddick.
In doubles, 2011 singles finalist Jo Wilfried Tsonga will team with the 2007 runner-up Nicolas Mahut against Jarkko Niemenen and Gilles Simon.
Elsewhere, another British wild card, Ed Corrie, faces Sergiy Stakhovsky on Court One, while qualifier Jamie Baker faces Benoit Paire of France.
