Andy Murray up by a set as rain ends day three

Share

Andy Murray was a set up against Nicolas Mahut before rain ended play on Wednesday at The Queen's Club.

Following a confident first set display from the No.1 seed, it was all square in the second when the players were called off for the third rain break and play was cancelled for the day at 1830.

Murray’s much anticipated comeback, and return to the grass courts of The Queen’s Club, started in confident fashion as the Scot matched all the accomplished Mahut had to offer.

The British No.1 is looking for revenge after the Frenchman’s win when at the same stage of last year’s Aegon Championships and will be hopeful of progressing towards a third round match against Marinko Matosevic.

Earlier on Centre Court second seed Tomas Berdych defeated Dutch player Thiemo De Bakker in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-4.
