Aegon Championships 2014 entry list announced

A second Wimbledon champion, last year's Aegon Championships runner-up and one of the form players 2014 have joined Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych and Jo Wilfried Tsonga on the Aegon Championships entry list. 

Lleyton Hewitt, who won Wimbledon in 2002, the 2012 Aegon Championships winner and 2013 runner-up Marin Cilic, and the explosive Latvian Ernests Gulbis have all joined the field, which also includes Grigor Dimitrov, Alex Dolgopolov and Austrian youngster Dominic Thiem.

Tournament Director Ross Hutchins, said: "The Aegon Championships player entry list includes current champions such as Andy Murray, established stars like Lleyton Hewitt and exciting young talent in Grigor Dimitrov, Ernests Gulbis and Dominic Thiem, among many others. They will compete for a trophy at The Queen's Club that has been lifted in the open era by Rod Laver, John McEnroe, Boris Becker and Pete Sampras. We can't wait for the tournament to get underway."

The 2010 champion Sam Querrey, the 2007 runner-up Nicolas Mahut and American Jack Sock and Australian Bernard Tomic are also in the line-up.

David Macmillan, Chief Marketing Officer of Aegon UK, added: “With so many big names already confirmed, the Aegon Championships is going to be a fiercely contested tournament. In addition to established names like Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, a number of exciting young players will be competing so it will be interesting to see how they get on.”

On finals day, the Aegon Championships will stage a mixed doubles match involving Murray and Hutchins as part of Rally For Bally. Mixed doubles matches will also take place on 15th June at the Aegon Classic in Birmingham and the Aegon International in Eastbourne.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is the official charity of the Aegon Championships, and the proceeds will be split between the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, donate now.
