The Champion returns

In his first appearance back on the grass since capturing the 2013 Men's Wimbledon title , Andy Murray booked his place in the third round with a 6-4, 6-4 win over world no. 92 Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Murray celebrated returning to the ATP Top 5 by chalking up his nineteenth consecutive win on grass, breaking Mathieu in the first game from 0-40 down and moving quickly to take the first set.

With Murray in search of a record-equalling fourth title at the Queen's Club, he capitalised on his opportunities, breaking Mathieu in the seventh game of the second set before finishing off the match in style, smashing a back-hand winner down the line to earn himself a third round tie against Radek Stepanek.

Tsonga triumphs

Making his fifth appearance at the Aegon Championships, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga secured his place in the third round with a 7-6, 6-2 victory over world no. 105 David Goffin.

The fifth seed edged a close first set, with Goffin saving two set points before forcing a tie break, which Tsonga took 7-5. Tsonga was quickest out the block in the second set, breaking the young Belgian twice to grab a 4-0 lead before serving out the match with a crushing ace.

Hewitt's run ended

Lleyton Hewitt's attempt to win his fifth Aegon Championships was halted by Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, who beat out the Australian world no. 43 6-3, 6-4.

The tenth seed was in control from the start, dominating rallies and not allowing any break points for Hewitt, breaking early and taking the first set. Both players enchanged blows in a series of tight rallies, before world no. 29 Lopez seized the upper-hand, breaking Hewitt before going on to serve out 6-4 for the win.

Tomorrow's Play

Second seed Tomas Berdych kicks off play against Adrian Mannarino on Center Court, before Andy Murray continues his campaign against Czech fifteenth seed Radek Stepanek.

Reigning Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka takes on American Sam Querrey and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is rewarded for today's win with a matchup against Marinko Matosevic.
