World No.2 Andy Murray suffered defeat at the hands of Stanislas Wawrinka in the last 16 of the Monte Carlo Masters.
Murray, who had won eight of his previous 12 meetings with the Swiss No.2, was beaten 6-1, 6-2 in less than an hour on his second clay court match of 2013.
Meanwhile in the doubles, British duo Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray were beaten in the second round by fourth seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi & Jeam-Julien Rojer 6-4, 6-1.

World No.2 Andy Murray has started his 2013 clay court season with victory over Edouard Roger-Vasselin at the Monte Carlo Masters.
Murray beat the Frenchman, ranked 81 in the world, 6-1, 6-4 and goes on to face Stanislas Wawrinka in the last 16.
In the doubles, Jonny Marray & Colin Fleming overcame Julian Knowle & Freddie Nielsen 6-4, 7-6(7) in the opening round.

World No.2 Andy Murray has a 10-6 record in Monte-Carlo, including semi-final runs in 2009 and 2011 (missing out to Nadal both times). This year the British No.1 plays qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin after receiving a bye into round two.
In the doubles, Jonny Marray & Colin Fleming have teamed up and take on Julian Knowle & Freddie Nielsen in the opening round.
