Tara Moore and Lisa Whybourn are through to the second round of the women's singles in America. Moore, who is seeded eighth, now plays Mayo Hibi of Japan, while Whybourn takes on Zuzana Zlochova.
Meanwhile in the doubles Moore & Melanie South have reached the quarter-finals and play top seeds Julie Coin & Ana Vrljic for a place in the final four.

Whybourn is set to take on Yi-Fan Xu and eighth seed Moore plays Kimberly Yee in round one, while South is through to the final round of qualifying.
In the doubles, Moore & South have teamed up and take on Arefyeva & Kramperova in their opening round match.
