Heather Watson is through to the quarter-finals of the women’s singles in Memphis after a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 win over Czech Andrea Hlavackova. In the final eight, British No.1 Watson plays Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland.
Meanwhile in the doubles Watson and partner Marina Erakovic were knocked out in the quarter-final stages.

British No.1 Heather Watson survived a three hour and 24 minute marathon match in the opening round of the US National Indoor Tennis Championships after defeating Galina Voskoboeva (KAZ) 7-5, 5-7, 7-6(4). Watson, the fourth seed, plays either American Melanie Oudin or Czech Andrea Hlavackova next.
Meanwhile in the doubles Watson partners Marina Erakovic and the third seeded duo have already moved through to the quarter-finals
