Anne Keothavong finished as the runner up in her first WTA doubles final with partner Valeria Savinykh of Russia at the WTA Brasil Tennis Cup. Keothavong & Savinykh played top seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues & Yaroslava Shvedova for the title but missed out 6-0, 6-4.

Anne Keothavong is through to her first WTA doubles final after defeating Kristina Barrois & Tatjana Malek 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 in the semi-finals of the WTA Brasil Tennis Cup with partner Valeria Savinykh of Russia.
Keothavong & Savinykh play top seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues & Yaroslava Shvedova for the title.
Speaking ahead of her final Keothavong said: “Obviously, it's really good for Valeria and I to be in a WTA final because we didn't really expect it. I've lost in the semis of WTAs in singles and doubles so many times so from a personal point of view, it's nice to break that duck. Valeria and I get on well and we've just been encouraging each other to smile and laugh (at ourselves) on the court more because it helps keep us relaxed - it's a key tactic! We're up against opponents who have both been Grand Slam doubles champions so it's a big challenge but one we'll enjoy.”
