Konta, the seventh seed, defeated Anna Schmiedlova 6-4, 6-4 to seal her place in the final eight where she meets second seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.

Johanna Konta has moved through to the second round of the women's singles in Eilat, Israel after a 6-4, 6-4 win over doubles partner Julia Glushko.
Konta now plays Anna Schmiedlova for a place in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile in the doubles Glushko & Konta progressed through to the second round before being defeated in straight sets.
