Alfie Hewett added the men's singles title to the men's doubles title he had already won at the Arcotel- Rezidencija 55 Tournament after his French opponent David Dalmasso retired at the start of third set in Tuesday morning's final.

Dalmasso gained an early break for a 2-0 lead in the opening set and maintained the advantage to take the set, but Hewett hit back to snatch the second set.

With the match poised at 3-6, 7-5, second seed Hewett led the opening game of the third set 40-0 when Dalmasso had to retire, giving the 15-year-old British No. 4 his third singles title of 2013.

Alfie Hewett and David Phillipson won their second men's doubles title together in Zagreb ahead of Hewett contesting the men's singles final on Tuesday's last day of play.

Top seeds Hewett and Phillipson reached the men's doubles semi-finals without dropping a game and went on to beat third seeds Robinson Mendez of Chile and Steffen Sommerfeld of Germany to book their place in the final.

After winning the Sheffield Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in March, Hewett and Phillipson then extended their unbeaten record together to six matches as they beat French seconds seeds David Dalmasso and Yoann Quilliou 6-2, 6-4 to lift the ITF 3 Series title.

Hewett beat Guido Nespethal of Germany 6-1, 6-1 and Giorgos Lazaridis of Greece 6-1, 6-3 to book his place in the men's single semi-finals and then had to battle hard before finally seeing out Mendez 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the semi-finals.

Hewett plays Dalmasso in the title decider after the French third seed ended hopes of an all-British singles final when edging past Phillipson in the semi-finals.

Phillipson started his campaign comfortably, beating Austrian Nico Langmann 6-1, 6-2 before going on to beat Croatian home-favourite Anto Joskic 6-0, 4-6, 6-1. Phillipson and Dalmasso fought out a thrilling semi-final, with Phillipson edging the opening set. However, Dalamasso clinched two further tie-breaks for a 6-7(4), 7-6(2), 7-6 (4) victory.
