Gordon Reid and Lucy Shuker both finished runners-up in their respective singles finals as the British men's and women's No. 1 players completed their final tournament before the British Open.

Third seed and world No. 4 Reid led world No. 5 Gustavo Fernandez narrowly in the second set of the men's singles final in Geneva, but Fernandez clinched the final three games for a 6-4, 6-4 win and his first win over Reid this season.

World No. 7 Shuker had a tough women's singles final against world No. 6 Kgothatso Montjane, with the South African top seed claiming the title 6-1, 6-2.

Gordon Reid partnered Michael Jeremiasz to win the men's doubles on the penultimate day of the Swiss Open as Reid and Lucy Shuker also moved into the men's and women's singles finals.

Reid and Frenchman Jeremiasz claimed their third title from five tournaments together as the top seeds beat second seed Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina and Stephane Houdet of France 7-6, 6-2.

Earlier in the day third seed Reid had beaten his doubles partner to improve on his semi-final berth in Geneva in 2012 and reach his first ITF 1 Series final of 2013, earning an impressive 6-3, 6-0 win over Jeremiasz.

Reid will now face world No. 5 Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina, having won both of the contests between the two players this season in three sets.

Second seed Shuker will face South African top seed and world No. 6 Kgothatso Montjane in the women's singles final. World No. 7 Shuker beat Dutch former world No. 1 Maaike Smit to reach her second ITF 1 Series final of 2013.

Third seed Gordon Reid beat Belgian fifth seed Joachim Gerard 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals, having been 4-1 down in the second set.

Reid will now play his doubles partner and sixth seed Michael Jeremiasz of France in the semi-finals on Saturday, when Lucy Shuker also plays her women's singles semi-final.

Reid and Jeremiasz also contest the men's doubles final on Saturday's penultimate day of play. The top seeds beat Gerard and Dutchman Maikel Scheffers 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals and will now meet the second seeds, Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez and Stephane Houdet of France.

Gordon Reid opened his men's singles challenge in Geneva in fine style after defeating Frenchman Patrice Meyer 6-0, 6-0. Third seed Reid faces Belgian fifth seed Joachim Gerard in Friday's quarter-finals.

Reid and Michael Jeremiasz also eased through to the men's doubles semi-finals after the top seeds opened their account by beating Italy's Antonio Cippo and Luca Spano 6-0, 6-1. Reid and Jeremiasz play third seeds Maikel Scheffers and Gerard for a place in the final.

Lucy Shuker recovered from 4-2 down in the final set to edge out Jordanne Whiley in a thrilling 'Battle of the Brits' on the second day of play in Geneva.

British No. 1 Shuker eventually dominated the tie-break to complete a 6-2, 0-6, 7-6(1) win over British No. 2 Whiley and the world No. 7 advances to a potentially tough women's singles semi-final against Dutch former world No. 1 Maaike Smit.

While Whiley now concentrates on her preparations for next week's British Open, Gordon Reid finally gets his men's singles challenge underway on the third day when he takes on Patrice Meyer of France before partnering Michael Jeremiasz of France to start their men's doubles challenge.

After their efforts in the Wimbledon Wheelchair Doubles Event over the weekend Gordon Reid, Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley have a swift turnaround as they move straight on to the ITF 1 Series Swiss Open.

Reid lost to his Wimbledon doubles partner Maikel Scheffers in the men' singles semi-finals in Genevain 2012, while partnering the Dutchman to their first of four titles together to date in the men's doubles.

Whiley and Shuker were both women's singles quarter-finalists last year before bowing out to the eventual finalists Esther Vergeer and Sabine Ellerbrock.
