Dermot Bailey and Paul Stewart reached the men's singles and doubles finals between them at the Martigny Indoors.

After straight sets wins over Thomas Suter and Vouillamoz Christophe, Bailey earned his third successive win over a Swiss player in thrilling circumstances, defeating top seed Daniel Pellegrina 7-5, 7-6(5) to book his place in the final. However, Bailey's bid for his first career singles title at ITF Futures level ended with a 7-6(3), 6-1 loss to French second seed Sebastien Husser.

After the perfect start to his opening match, Stewart bowed out of the men's singles to Swiss player Konstanti9n Schmaeh 0-6, 6-1, 6-2. The Londoner then won his opening consolation singles match against Swiss player Martin Erni 6-2, 6-4 before his singles challenge came to an end against Italy's Luca Spano 7-5, 6-2, with Spano going on to win the consolation event.

As second seeds for the men's doubles, Bailey and Stewart beat two all-Swiss partnerships en route to the final, defeating Erni and Yann Avanthey 6-1, 6-2 before a 6-4, 6-4 semi-final win over Herbert Keller and Thomas Von Daeniken.

However, Bailey and Stewart also came within one win of a title as top seeds Husser and Pellegrina claimed a deciding championship tie-break for a 6-7, 6-2, (10-1) victory in the final.

Dermot Bailey reached his first men's singles final of the year on Saturday after winning both his quarter-final and semi-final matches in straight sets, while also partnering Paul Stewart to the men's doubles final.

After winning his quarter-final 6-0, 6-2, Bailey went on to defeat Swiss top seed Daniel Pellegrina 7-5, 7-6(4) later in the day to book a place in Sunday's final.

Second seeds Bailey and Stewart also came through their doubles semi-final 6-4, 6-4 to reach their first NEC Tour final together and Bailey's third doubles final of the year.

Dermot Bailey made a winning start in Martigny, reaching the men's singles quarter-finals after beating Thomas Suter of Switzerland 6-1, 6-4. However, Paul Stewart saw his main draw singles challenge come to an end despite a great start against another Swiss player, Konstantin Schmaeh, with Schmaeh eventually prevailing 0-6, 6-1, 6-2.

But there was better news for Stewart in the men's doubles as he and Bailey, the second seeds, opened their campaign with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Swiss duo Yann Avanthey and Martin Erni.

Dermot Bailey and Paul Stewart fly the flag for Britain in Martigny, with Swiss, French and Italian players among their main opposition at the ITF Futures tournament.

Bailey has improved his world ranking by almost 100 places this the start of the year, while Stewart earned his place in the top 70 of the men's singles rankings for the first time at the end of May.
