Andy Murray battles past Ferrer to win in Miami; Robson runner-up in women's doubles
Andy Murray defeated David Ferrer 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(1) in an enthralling final to take the men's singles title in Miami and ensure he moves up to No.2 in the world when Monday's rankings are published.
In an epic match in hot, humid and windy conditions in Key Biscayne the British No.1 recovered from losing the first five games to edge his Spanish opponent in a gruelling final.
"It was such a tough match," said Murray, who was ranked number two for three weeks in 2009, the same year he first won in Miami."It could have gone either way, both of us were struggling physically at the end. It's so tough against him. He has a great attitude, he's a great fighter. I am sure we will have more tough matches in the future."
Meanwhile in the women's doubles 19 year-old Briton Laura Robson and partner Lisa Raymond, 39, ended a fantastic week by finishing runners-up to Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, with the latter pair winning 6-1, 7-6.
Robson and Raymond were beaten in one hour and 10 minutes with their opponents converting five from 10 break points to take the title.
For Robson it was a first WTA doubles final appearence whilst Raymond has won 79 doubles tournaments, including six Grand Slam titles, since turning professional in 1993.

Murray recovers to see off Gasquet and move into Miami final
The British No.1 has reached the men's singles final at the Maiami ATP Masters 1000 event after coming from a set down to knock out Richard Gasquet in Friday's semi-final.
Murray ran out a 6-7(3), 6-1, 6-2 winner and took a significant step towards the world No.2 ranking, which he will achieve if he defeats Spain's David Ferrer in Sunday's final.
The Spanish world No.5 stopped the remarkable run of German veteran Tommy Haas and will be bidding for his second ATP Masters 1000 title against the Briton on Sunday.

Murray defeats Cilic to reach Miami Masters semi-finals
Andy Murray reached the semi-finals of the Sony Open in Miami with a straight-sets victory over Marin Cilic on Friday
Murray, 25, claimed the opening set against the Croat 6-4 before impressively winning the second 6-3 to set up a semi-final against Richard Gasquet on Friday after the Frenchman beat Tomas Berdych 6-3 6-3.
Tommy Haas will take on David Ferrer in the other semi-final.
Murray, a winner in Miami in 2009 and runner-up in 2012 will overtake Roger Federer to move to second in the ATP World Rankings if he lifts the title this week.

Andy Murray in Miami Masters quarter-finals
British No.1 Andy Murray defeated Andreas Seppi 6-2, 6-4 in a straightforward one hour and 26 minutes match to reach the quarter-finals of the Miami Masters.
Murray, the 2009 champion, will play world No.11 Marin Cilic of Croatia in the last eight.
Murray will replace Roger Federer as the world No.2 if he wins the tournament and his chances to achieve this increased after top seed Novak Djokovic was knocked out by 15th seed Tommy Haas in the last 16.
Meanwhile Laura Robson & American partner Lisa Raymond carried on their good run of form after defeating fourth seeds Ekaterina Makarova & Elena Vesnina in the quarter-finals of the women's doubles. In the final four the unseeded British/American duo play top Italian seeds Sara Errani & Roberta Vinci.

Andy Murray beats Grigor Dimitrov
Andy Murray defeated Grigor Dimitrov 7-6(3), 6-3 to move into the Miami fourth round.
British No.1 Murray recovered from a slow start saving two opening set points at 2-5 before the 21 year-old Bulgarian served three double faults to allow Murray back in the match.
The world No.3 now plays the 2011 Aegon International Champion Italian Andreas Seppi in the final 16.
Meanwhile Laura Robson & American partner Lisa Raymond play fourth seeds Ekaterina Makarova & Elena Vesnina in the quarter-finals of the women's doubles.

British No.1 Andy Murray defeats Australian Bernard Tomic
British No.1 Andy Murray defeated Australian Bernard Tomic in his first match in Miami. Second seed Murray, who received a bye in round one, defeated the 20 year-old world No.45 6-3, 6-1. Murray plays his third round encounter against Grigor Dimitrov third on after 17.00 UK time.
Meanwhile in the men's doubles, Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey of the Philippines narrowly missed out to fifth seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi & Jean-Julien Rojer 4-6, 6-3, 14-12, while Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray fell to Lukasz Kubot & Jankko Tipsarevic in a marathon 3-6, 7-6(9) 13-11 in one hour and 43 minutes after holding four match points.
The Britons broke for 3-1 and 4-2 en route to the opening set. All 12 games of the second went with serve, the Brits were up a mini break at 4-2 in the tie-break, but there was nothing in it other than that.
In the match tie-break, the only two point leads belonged to the Brits at 3-1 and their opponents at 6-4. Fleming and Marray had their third match point at 9-8 and their last at 10-9.

British No.2 Laura Robson missed out 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 to Alize Cornet in the second round of the Sony Open Tennis Premier event in Miami after a bizarre two-hour 36 minute match that endured over seven hours, starting at 3:20pm and ending at 10:28pm, also including a 3:33 delay for rain and two floodlight failures.
Three times in the opening set, Robson came from a break down, at 0-1, 2-3 and 3-4 to take it 7-5. Games went with serve in the second, the rain came with Robson serving at 2-2 and deuce, but the first 15-minute power outage with Cornet serving at 3-4 and 30-30 proved to be a turning point. Robson was broken at 5-5 serving her 12th and 13th double faults (from 17 in total) and another bout of darkness just as the final set got under way did see Robson hold in the opening game but lost the final six games as the distractions took their toll.
Robson said after the match: “It was definitely one of the more bizarre matches I’ve played in. It was difficult but one of those things you have to deal with.”
In the women’s doubles, wild cards Robson and American partner Lisa Raymond have progressed into the final eight after defeating alternates to Heather Watson and New Zealander Marina Erakovic, Tatjana Malek & Tamarine Tanasugarn 4-6, 6-1, 10-8. Robson & Raymond play fourth seeds Ekaterina Makarova & Elena Vesnina next.

Murray to meet Bernard Tomic in Miami second round
British No.1 Andy Murray will face Australian Bernard Tomic in the second round of the Sony Open Tennis Masters in Miami.
Second seed Murray, who received a bye in round one, has only played the 20 year-old world No.45 once before, in the 2012 Brisbane International where Murray prevailed in straight sets.
Friday's order of play in Miami sees 19 year-old Laura Robson play France's Alize Cornet, with British No.1 Heather Watson in doubles action.
Meanwhile in the men's doubles, Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey of the Philippines triumphed with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Americans John Isner & Sam Querrey to set up a second round meeting with fifth seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi & Jean-Julien Rojer.
Wild cards Laura Robson and American partner Lisa Raymond are also into the second round after defeating Kops-Jones & Spears 7-5, 6-2.

British No.2 Laura Robson is through to the second round in Miami after a 6-2, 4-6 6-3 win over Italy's Camila Giorgi.
World No.43 Robson, who is now the highest ranked teenager in the top 100, plays France's Alize Cornet next.
Meanwhile in the doubles, 19 year-old Robson has received a wild card with American partner Lisa Raymond, the duo take on Kops-Jones & Spears in the opening round.
In the men's doubles, British duo Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray have teamed up, while Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey of the Philippines are also in action.

Heather Watson misses out in Miami opening round
British No.1 Heather Watson suffered an opening round defeat in Miami on Tuesday by Japan's Ayumi Morita.
In a first time meeting, world ranked 39 Watson was defeated 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 by the Japanese 23 year-old in two hours and 45 minutes.
Watson is still in doubles contention with Marina Erakovic of New Zealand.
Meanwhile Laura Robson begins her Miami campaign later today against Camila Giorgi of Italy.

Andy Murray returns to Miami
Andy Murray returns to Miami after a runner-up finish in 2012 to world No.1 Novak Djokovic. This year British No.1 Murray will be looking to do one better in his attempt to prevent the Serb from becoming the first player to win three straight Sony Open Tennis titles since Andre Agassi in 2001-03.
Heather Watson and Laura Robson also join Murray in Miami in the WTA Premier event. World No.39 Watson meets Japan's Ayumi Morita in round one while world No.43 Robson plays Camila Giorgi.
