World No. 6 Gordon Reid completed the perfect preparation for leading the Great Britain's team in the men's World Group at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Turkey in the coming week when he beat world No. 2 Stephane Houdet of France 3.6, 6-3, 6-1 in Sunday's men's singles final in Rome.

It was second seed Reid's second career win over top seed Houdet after the Brit also beat Houdet in Rotterdam earlier this year.

Reid and his Slovak Republic partner David Chabrecek bowed out of the men's doubles at the semi-final stage, beaten 6-1, 6-2 by top seeds Houdet and Martin Legner of Austria.

Gordon Reid secured his second 6-0, 6-1 win in successive days as he beat Martin Legner of Austria in his men's singles semi-final on Saturday's second day of play in Rome.

Second seed and world No. 6 Reid will face French world No.2 Stephane Houdet in Sunday's final as the British No. 1 bids to beat Houdet for the second time this year.

Gordon Reid made a confident start to his men's singles challenge in Rome, beating the Slovak Republic's David Chabrecek 6-0, 6-1.

Second seed Reid will face veteran Austrian Martin Legner in Saturday's semi-finals, when the British No. 1 and Chabrecek take on top seeds Stephane Houdet of France and Legner.

British No. 1 Gordon Reid is one of three world top 10 ranked players in the field of eight for this week's ITF 3 Series tournament in Rome, which runs alongside the Internazionali BNL d'Italia ATP and WTA Tour event where Andy Murray and Laura Robson are among the other British players taking part.

Reid lines up alongside the likes of world No. 2 Stephane Houdet and his fellow Frenchman and world No. 8 Michael Jeremiasz in the men's singles and doubles wheelchair tennis event.
