David Phillipson powered into the men's singles semi-finals on the second day of play in A-Coruna, but saw his doubles campaign come to an end.

The Brit beat his doubles partner Daniel Prada 6-0, 6-0 to set up a semi-final against his third successive Spanish opponent, third seed Roberto Chamizo.

Phillipson and Prada's quest to reach the men's doubles semi-finals ended in a match tie-break, with the all-Spanish partnership of Felix Garcia and Martin de la Puente prevailing 6-4, 1-6, (12-10) to move on to the last four.

After reaching the men's singles final of his two tournaments so far this season in Britain and Israel, British No. 3 David Phillipson bids to go one better in Spain this week in what will be his last tournament before being part of the Great Britain men's team at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Turkey from 20-26 May.

Also unbeaten in two doubles events this season, Phillipson will bid to go on better than fellow Brit Alex Jewitt, who was the men's singles runner-up at the 2012 event in A-Coruna.
