Dan Evans fell in the first round of the singles in Cherbourg after a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 defeat to Jan Mertl (CZE).
In the doubles Jamie Delgado & Paul Hanley (AUS) take on No.4 seeds Brown (GER) & Krajicek (USA) in the first round. Ken & Neal Skupksi fell in the first round and Evans & David Rice handed a walkover to their opponents.
