Louise Hunt bowed out of the women’s singles in the quarter-finals and the women’s doubles in the semi-finals, with Germany’s world No. 10 Katharina Kruger on the opposite side of the net on both occasions.

Hunt pushed Kruger close in the last eight of the women’s singles, but top seed Kruger eventually held on for a narrow 7-6(8), 6-4 victory,

Meanwhile, having beaten Poland’s Mietrkiewicz in her opening singles match, Hunt partnered Mietrkiewicz in the doubles, but the duo again bowed out to the top seeds as Kruger and Italy’s Marianna Lauro advanced 6-2, 6-1.

World No. 19 Louise Hunt made a comfortable start to her women’s singles campaign on the first day of play in Delemont, beating Poland’s Lucyna Mietrkiewicz 6-0, 6-1.

After just missing out on one of the four seeded positions, Hunt will play German top seed Katharina Kruger in the quarter-finals.

After reaching the women’s singles and women’s doubles finals at the North West Challenge, her first tournament of 2014, and then being a singles quarter-finalist and doubles semi-finalist at the Bolton Indoors, British No. 3 Louise Hunt returns to a tournament where she won the women’s doubles in 2011.

Hunt is one of several world top 20 ranked players entered for the women’s singles and doubles at this year’s ITF 3 Series event.
