Jamie Burdekin and Dorrie Timmermans-van Hall finished runners-up in the quad doubles at the Swiss Open.

After their victory over the top seeds in the semi-finals, Burdekin and Timmermans-van Hall were edged out in the final against second seeds Dylan Alcott of Australia and Lucas Sithole of South Africa, who prevailed 7-6(3), 6-4 to claim the title.

Jamie Burdekin and his Dutch partner Dorrie Timmermans-van Hall upset American top seeds Greg Hasterok and David Wagner in the quad doubles semi-finals on the fourth day of play in Geneva.

Burdekin and Timmermans-van Hall clinched a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Hasterok and Wagner to book their place in the final against the second seeds, Australia’s Dylan Alcott and Lucas Sithole of South Africa.

After achieving his seeded position in both the men’s singles and men’s doubles David Phillipson saw his challenge in both events come to an end. Sixth seed Phillipson bowed out of the men’s singles 6-2, 6-4 against fourth seed Joachim Gerard of Belgium. Gerard was again on the opposite side of the net to Phillipson in the men’s doubles semi-finals, partnering Frenchman Stephane Houdet, and the top seeds and Roland Garros champions defeated Phillipson and Argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez, the third-seeded partnership, 6-3, 6-0.

With David Phillipson and Jamie Burdekin both having a day away from singles competition, Phillipson moved into the men's doubles semi-finals.

The Brit and Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez beat South Africa's Evans Maripa and Germany's Guido Nespethal 6-0, 6-3 in the last eight. The third seeds will play top seeds and Roland Garros champions Joachim Gerard of Belgium and Stephane Houdet of France for a place in the final on Friday, when Phillipson also meets Gerard in the men's singles quarter-finals and Burdekin plays his quad doubles semi-final.

Jamie Burdekin reached the quad singles and doubles semi-finals and David Phillipson secured his place in the men’s singles quarter-finals and men’s doubles semi-finals on the second day of the Swiss Open as both Brits made smooth progress in Geneva.

Fourth seed Burdekin was one of three players to earn a place in the last four of the quad singles after dropping just one game in their quarter-final matches. The world No. 5 had few problems in defeating American world No. 11 David Buck 6-1, 6-0 and goes on to play South African world No. 2 Lucas Sithole on Saturday for a place in the final.

Burdekin partners Dutch player Dorrie Timmermans-van Hall in the quad doubles and the duo will face American top seeds Greg Hasterok and David Wagner for a place in the final after beating Italians Alfredo di Cosmo and Antonio Raffaele.

After his first round bye sixth seed Phillipson eased through his opening men’s singles match, his 6-1, 6-1 win over Switzerland’s Raphael Gremion earning the British No. 3 a quarter-final against fourth seed Joachim Gerard of Belgium.

After a bye into the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles Phillipson and Argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez, the third seeds, take on Germany’s Guido Nespethal and South Africa’s Evans Maripa for a place in the last four.

Jamie Burdekin made a comfortable start to his quad singles challenge at the Swiss Open as the world No.5 and British men's No.3 David Phillipson carry British hopes in Geneva in their last tournament before the 25th British Open.

Fourth seed Burdekin eased past Sebastien Jance of France 6-1, 6-2 to earn a quad singles quarter-final agaist American world No.11 David Buck.

After a first round bye in the men's singles Phillipson will start his campaign at the ITF 1 Series tournament against Switzerland's Raphael Gremion. Victory for sixth seed Phillipson would earn him a place in the quarter-finals.
