Louise Hunt claimed her second ITF 2 Series doubles title of 2014 in Tel Aviv. Hunt, winner of the women's singles in Israel in 2012, partnered Sharon Walraven to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over German second seeds Katharina Kruger and Bianca Osterer as Hunt gained some recompense for her three set singles semi-final loss to Kruger.

Louise Hunt and her Dutch partner Sharon Walraven eased into Thursday's women’s doubles final in Tel Aviv, although Hunt bowed out of the women’s singles despite an encouraging start to her semi-final.

Top seeds Hunt and Walraven sealed a comprehensive 6-0, 6-1 doubles victory over Russia’s Polina Shakirova and Turkey’s Busra Un to book their place in the final against German second seeds Katharina Kruger and Bianca Osterer.

Earlier in the day Hunt dropped just one game in the opening set of her singles semi-final against Kruger as the British No. 3 attempted to secure her second career win over the German world No. 9. However, top seed Kruger came back to progress 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Louise Hunt made a fine start in her bid to follow up fellow Brit Jordanne Whiley’s women’s singles victory at the 2013 Israel Open when the British No. 3 beat third seed Charlotte Famin of France in her opening match of this year’s ITF 2 Series event.

After a bye into the quarter-finals world No. 18 Hunt battled back from a set down to beat world No. 14 Famin, who was recently awarded a wild card for Roland Garros, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Hunt will now attempt to secure another big result when she plays German top seed and world No. 9 Katharina Kruger in the last four.

Hunt and Dutchwoman Sharon Walraven are the top seeds for the women’s doubles and have a bye into the semi-finals.
