Andy Murray moved into the US Open quarter-finals after an impressive straight sets victory over the in-form Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Murray, who had not beaten a top 10 player since the 2013 Wimbledon final, produced some of his best tennis to defeat the Frenchman 7-5, 7-5, 6-4 and set up a quarter-final clash with world No.1 Novak Djokovic.
Speaking after the match, Murray said: "I don't feel like I'm that far away from playing my best tennis. It's still obviously a long way from trying to win the tournament, but it's only nine sets now, three matches, and I'll just try and take it one set at a time.
"I may be five, six days away from potentially winning another Grand Slam. I know there is a lot of work to be done between now and then, but putting everything out there on the courts, the last Slam of the year, I hope I can play well."

Hutchins reached mixed doubles semi-finals
Ross Hutchins & Yung-Jan Chan reached the semi-finals of the mixed doubles after a 6-3, 1-2 retired victory over Peschke & Matkowski. Hutchins & Chan now face No.1 seeds Mirza & Soares for a place in the final.

Katie Swan moved into the second round of US Open after defeating American Claire Liu 7-6(5), 6-2.
It was not to be for Maia Lumsden, Freya Christie and Katie Boulter who fell in the first round.
