World No.1 Novak Djokovic moved into the US Open semi-finals after defeating Andy Murray 7-6(1), 6-7(1), 6-2, 6-4 on Arthur Ashe at Flushing Meadows.
Murray, who defeated Djokovic in the 2012 US Open final, pushed the No.1 seed all the way but struggled to take his opportunities taking only four of 16 break points. Whilst Djokovic was ruthless when given a chance winning seven of 10 break points and this ultimately gave the Serb the edge as he moved into an eighth consecutive US Open semi-final.
Speaking after the match, Murray said: "I think I can do better. It was a good tournament, I played some nice tennis at times. There are definitely a few things I can do better, to keep working on and improving. But it's a shame.
"Obviously the Slams are over for this year, so I have to wait a few months before the next one."
