Lionel Cox 2017
18 of Berkshire's top junior players competed in the annual Lionel Cox competition over the May BankHoliday weekend, playing some of the best players in the country at Queenswood Girls School in Hertfordshire.
After 90 very well fought matches against 9 other counties, the 12&U, 10&U and 9&U teams came out with our best ever overall result of 4TH PLACE!
Special congratulations goes out to our 10&U girls team, which consisted of Sarah Vickers, Steffi Swanson and Lily Doherty who came 2nd place out of the 9 other counties, narrowly losing to Hertfordshire in the final.
Overall it was a great weekend for all involved with thanks to Holly Russell and Jo Dulston who alongside myself helped manage the Berkshire team, and Sarah Tricks the event referee who managed to run a smooth competition which had over 180 players from 10 counties competing against each other over just 2 days.
Well done to all the 18 Berkshire juniors who were involved.
