U14 Girls Report - Girls Group F: Bromley:

Amelia Barton, Emily Honor, Lauren McKinlay, Poppy King, Olivia Ray, Imogen Scarles

Day 1 – Hampshire 0-6

The first day of County Cup was against Hampshire and IOW and we had Poppy King as no. 4 and Lauren McKinlay in at no 3. Despite some close games and good focus Poppy lost 6-2 6-0 and Lauren lost 1-6 0-6. Then Emily Honor stepped out at no. 2, she ran down everyball but lost 2-6 0-6. Amelia Barton played at no. 1 and lost her singles 2-6 6-0. Doubles pairing were Lauren and Imogen Scarles who lost 0-6 3-6 rallied well from back. Amelia and Olivia Ray teamed up and lost 2-6 4-6 after some deep return of serves. Tough day - too big and strong. Hampshire went on to win the event.

Day 2- Essex 1-5

On the second day the Bucks team had lots of supporters watching which really busted moral.  Imogen Scarles come in at no.4 singles and Lauren played no. 3. Both battled hard and had two hour matches. Imogen losing 6-2 2-6 4-6 and Lauren Lost 6-1 6-3 6-4. Emily narrowly losing in a tie break set then lost 6-7(2) 3-6. At no.1 Amelia played some high level tennis to rattle her opponent.  Closely losing the match on a tie break 2-6 6-7. Our only match won of the weekend was won by Poppy and Lauren when they teamed up in the doubles to win 6-2-6-1 some great team work. Amelia and Olivia teamed up and Lost 2-6 1-6 against a tough pair. Big battles on court and the buck’s team increased their performance level.

Day 3- Leicestershire 0-6

Still in good spirits the team came out on the last day ready to go. Poppy played at no. 4 and with a great start but had an epic battle against a consistent player losing in the end 6-1 1-6 1-6. Lauren lost her singles with some close games 2-6 0-6. Emily lost her single against a speedy opponent 0-6 1-6. Amelia lost 0-6 1-6 after better focus in the second set. Doubles were played by Poppy and Lauren losing 4-5 1-4 however there was some brilliant interception and net play. With some good communication skills and action plans Amelia and Emily in the end lost their match 1-4 2-4.

Lots of positive experiences on court over the weekend and the Bucks Girls gave 100% effort.
