Newport Pagnell Tennis Club are delighted to announce the appointment of NIGEL WILLARD to be their new Head Coach. A former ranked player of Premier League standard who toured until passing his LTA coaching qualification in 2003.
He has coached to national standards and has been responsible for the development of three of Britain’s top junior champions. Nigel’s players have won 4 National and 7 County titles, together with numerous European and National tournament wins. Nigel is fully licensed by the LTA and is an advanced tennis instructor as well as a tennis leader tutor and a D of E assessor. He won an Aegon National Coach award in 2010 for his work with the juniors at Olney Tennis Club and has played a key role in Olney’s successful development and expansion over the past 3 years.
At Newport Pagnell Tennis Club Nigel will be working together with his Assistant, GAVIN FOWELL who is a Level 2 (now taking his Level 3) LTA Coach (and former Newport Pagnell junior!). Both Nigel and Gavin will deliver the future coaching programmes at Newport Pagnell. We are confident that Nigel’s appointment will bring to Newport Pagnell the kind of comprehensive and excellent coaching programmes he has already successfully established at Olney.
Nigel will continue to be Tennis Club Pro at Olney and we expect that as Head Coach with responsibility at both clubs he will bring a number of shared objectives which can only benefit the junior and adult members of both communities.
In the meantime we’d like to congratulate Nigel on his appointment and look forward to working with him and Gavin in the future.
